CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — A joint investigation between the United States Postal Service and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office ended with a man in custody, accused of trafficking thousands of dollars worth of fentanyl from California to St. Marys, Georgia through the mail.
Marcus Milford, 34, was identified as the main source of drug distribution throughout Camden County, the sheriff’s office said.
After a search warrant was served at Milford’s residence, investigators discovered roughly one kilogram of fentanyl, along with liquid cocaine, marijuana, firearms and $114,000.
If the fentanyl had been packaged and distributed, the drugs could have fetched approximately $100,000 for sale on the street, according to CCSO.
“As a result of this joint investigation with the United States Postal Inspection Service a large quantity of dangerous drugs were not able to be distributed to people in Camden County,” said Camden County Sheriff Jim Proctor.
Several other items used to manufacture, weigh and package narcotics were also discovered inside Milford’s residence, CCSO said.
As a result of the investigation, Milford was arrested and faces charges of trafficking illegal drugs.
