Out of all the trends that have emerged for fall/winter 2022, it’s the pretty and ultra-femme aesthetic that I can’t seem to get off my mind. Brands like Miu Miu and 16Arlington sent a wave of pastels down their fall/winter 2022 runways and have managed to capture the hearts of fashion folk everywhere—my fellow editors and I included. And retailers are paying close attention. While pastels aren’t usually what dominates the fall market, that’s all I can spot while perusing the new-arrivals pages. As someone who usually doesn’t gravitate toward pastels, I’m pairing the look with my edgier fall pieces.
Today’s retailer of discussion happens to be J.Crew, and the preppy brand’s womenswear team has fully hopped on board with fall’s biggest trend. There are your usual autumnal choices of neutrals and deep tones, but among the mix, you’ll find plenty of silky slip dresses, pastel knits, and dainty jewelry.
