Israel-Gaza war live updates: Blinken holds talks in Jordan; Strike hits U.N. school sheltering families

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with his Qatari and Jordanian counterparts in Amman Saturday, as part of his second trip to the Middle East since the Hamas attack. The visit follows a packed day in Tel Aviv, where Blinken pressed for “humanitarian pauses” in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to reject the U.S. push, refusing “a temporary cease-fire that does not include the return of hostages.” The U.N. relief agency UNRWA said a strike hit one of its schools sheltering thousands of families in the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza on Saturday. It said children were among the dead in the school attack, a day after a deadly Israeli strike on an ambulance outside Gaza City’s largest hospital.
