Rapidly rising UK pop talent Mickey Callisto sat down with Culture Fix editor Andrew to chat about his brand new single Homospace and his current tour. Mickey is continuing to take the nation by storm thanks to his big vocals and high-concept fusion of pop productions with distinctively original imagery and themes as heard on tracks such as Homospace, Supernova and Slave to the Man.
In the chat with Culture Fix, Mickey delved into the space and Italo disco influences that inspired Homospace and what fans can expect from his upcoming EP Man on a Mission. Those fortunate to be attending Mickey’s current tour will be lucky enough to catch a few of these tracks live, as well as numbers that the musician knows will get the crowd going.
Tapping into the influences that have helped shaped Mickey’s sound, the star delves into a love for Freddie Mercury and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, whilst also shouting out the new queer stars that sadly feel underrepresented in the mainstream. Fans of Mickey’s work with Alex Christensen which has seen him cover hits such as Who Wants to Live Forever, will also want to pay close attention for some exciting news in the chat.
Thanks to Mickey for taking time out of his tour to chat. You can connect on his social channels here: Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
