Before the release of a brand new chapter in his music career, we caught up with actor, singer and songwriter Max Ehrich to discuss the deeply personal inspiration behind his upcoming material. Promising his most honest work to date, Max is embracing themes of hope, faith and resilience, pairing heartfelt storytelling with contemporary pop, soulful influences and cinematic production.
In our conversation, Max opens up about finding authenticity in his songwriting, collaborating with acclaimed producers Leroy Romans and Marcopolo eMPe Castillo, and why he believes music has the power to heal and encourage. He also reflects on his passion for humanitarian work, balancing music with his acting career, and what fans can expect from the exciting releases that lie ahead.

Upcoming Music
We’re really excited to hear about your upcoming musical projects. Can you give us a little overview of what we can expect from the projects?
This chapter feels like the most honest music I’ve made so far. The songs are deeply personal, but they’re also meant to encourage people. I’ve been exploring themes of hope, faith, resilience, and finding light even during difficult seasons. Sonically, it’s a blend of contemporary pop with cinematic and soulful influences, and I think listeners will hear a version of me that’s more vulnerable than ever.
Was there a particular moment in your life that made you want your music to carry a stronger message?
Life has a way of teaching you what’s really important. I’ve experienced highs and lows that challenged my perspective, and those experiences reminded me that music has the power to heal, inspire, and connect people. I realized I wanted every song to leave someone feeling stronger than they did before they pressed play.
How has your approach to songwriting changed compared to your earlier releases?
I’ve become much less concerned with chasing trends and much more focused on telling the truth. Earlier in my career I was exploring who I was as an artist. Now I write from lived experience, and I’m not afraid to be vulnerable. If a song feels authentic, I trust that it will find the people who need it.
Musical Influences and Inspiration
Which artists are inspiring you the most creatively right now, and what is it about their work that resonates with you?
I’m always inspired by artists who lead with authenticity and emotion. I admire people who aren’t afraid to be vulnerable and who create music with purpose. Those are the kinds of artists who stay with you long after the song ends.
Are there any classic albums or songs you’ve found yourself returning to while making this new music?
Absolutely. I always find myself revisiting timeless records because great songwriting never goes out of style. Whether it’s classic pop, soul, gospel, or singer-songwriter albums, I love studying music that stands the test of time and reminds me that honesty is always relevant.
Working with Leroy Romans and Marcopolo “eMPe” Castillo
What has surprised you most about working with Leroy Romans and Marcopolo “eMPe” Castillo?
What surprised me most is how naturally we connected creatively. They both have incredible instincts, and they create an environment where ideas can evolve without pressure. That kind of trust is invaluable in the studio.
What does each producer bring to the studio that complements your own creative process?
Leroy has a great ear for emotion and storytelling, while eMPe brings amazing musicality and energy to every session. Together they challenge me creatively while making me feel comfortable enough to take risks.
Can you share a memorable moment from these recording sessions?
One of my favorite moments was when a song completely changed direction halfway through a session. We followed the emotion instead of the original plan, and it ended up becoming one of my favorite recordings. Those unexpected moments are often where the magic happens.
Faith and Positivity
Your upcoming music focuses on hope, faith and perseverance. How do you balance those themes without feeling overly preachy?
For me, it’s about sharing my own experience rather than telling people what to believe. I want listeners to feel encouraged, not instructed. Music connects best when it’s honest, and I think people naturally relate to stories of overcoming challenges.
Do you think audiences are looking for more optimistic and uplifting music in today’s world?
I do. People are carrying so much these days, and music can be a source of comfort and hope. There’s always room for songs that remind people they aren’t alone and that brighter days are possible.
What do you hope someone struggling personally takes away after listening to these songs?
I hope they feel seen. I hope they remember that difficult seasons don’t last forever, that their story isn’t over, and that hope is always worth holding onto.
Humanitarian Work
One of the projects supports relief efforts in Venezuela. How did that idea come about?
I’ve always believed music can be a force for good beyond entertainment. When the opportunity came to connect this project with humanitarian relief, it felt like a meaningful way to give back and hopefully make a positive impact through something I’m passionate about.
Do you see humanitarian causes becoming a regular part of your music career going forward?
Absolutely. If my platform can help bring attention to important causes or encourage people to support others, I want to continue doing that whenever I can.
Are there other charities or issues you’re particularly passionate about supporting?
I’m passionate about causes that support children, mental health, disaster relief, and communities facing hardship. I think we all have an opportunity to make a difference in whatever way we can.
Looking Ahead
What can fans expect sonically from these upcoming releases? Are there any genres or styles you’re exploring that people might not expect?
Fans will definitely hear familiar elements of who I am, but they’ll also hear growth. There are more cinematic arrangements, richer live instrumentation, and influences from pop, soul, inspirational music, and even a few unexpected textures that make the songs feel fresh.
Can you give us any hints about your next single or when fans might hear some of this new material?
I can’t reveal too much just yet, but I can say the first release really sets the tone for everything that’s coming. I’m incredibly excited to share it, and it won’t be long before everyone gets to hear what we’ve been working on.
You also have film and television projects in development. How are you balancing both sides of your career?
I’ve always loved both acting and music because they’re different ways of telling stories. Right now it’s about being intentional with my time, surrounding myself with a great team, and making sure each project gets the attention it deserves. I’m grateful to be able to pursue both passions, and I think they inspire each other creatively.
