In the past year, I’ve cooked dinner for my husband and I exclusively with the Instant Vortex Air Fryer. Meals take 30 minutes from prep to table, and the versatile, convenient appliance is easy-to-use — and even easier to clean. I’d pay full-price for my beloved air fryer, but thankfully, you don’t have to. It’s currently on sale for $119.99 instead of the usual $139.99 — and IMO, worth every single penny.

A favorite model when we tested all of Instant Pot’s air fryers, the 5.7-quart version has a permanent spot on my kitchen counter, fitting underneath my standard-height cabinets and taking up less space than the microwave. Like its Instant Pot cousin, the air fryer comes in a neutral, match-with-anything black and has touchscreen buttons that light up when the appliance is in use — which is nightly, in my house.

The generous size is large enough to cook dinner for two, and there are various sizes depending on how many people are in your household. There’s no shortage of air fryer recipes out there, but for me, the simpler, the better. I usually fry two or three pieces of marinated chicken thighs — plus carrots, peppers, and mushrooms — for 20 or 25 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit with no problems. For larger meals or to feed more folks, I’ll use my air fryer in tandem with my oven or stove.

This particular model can also reheat, roast, and bake, so it’s more versatile than other kitchen gadgets that only have one job (looking at you, citrus juicer). Poultry, seafood, vegetables, fries, leftover pizza — there’s nothing I haven’t thrown into the air fryer that hasn’t come out crispy, crunchy, and, best of all, without my constant hovering over the stove or in front of the oven.

The convenience, reliability, and versatility of the Instant Vortex Air Fryer far outweighs the (reduced) price. In fact, maybe it’s time for me to pick up a second air fryer while it’s on sale … see you at checkout!
