Whenever I think about Banana Republic, I think back to figuring out my “first day of work” outfit, trying to look office-appropriate but still like myself. I remember walking past the store on a whim, popping in, and leaving with a black knee-length boatneck dress. I ended up wearing it with knee-high boots, and Eliza Huber, WWW’s associate editorial director, told me the look felt “very Prada.”
This morning, I decided to look through the brand’s new arrivals, and as I scrolled, a lot of it reminded me of ‘90s minimalism. I found cap-sleeve T-shirts, straight-leg jeans, cashmere knitwear, and mock-necks—the kind of timeless staples that defined the era and still feel relevant decades later.
