Wilson’s Mills police are investigating after reports of human remains were found over the weekend.
Officers were called just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday to Fire Department Road. Police said a group of children reported finding human remains behind the Wilson’s Mills Association Cemetery, about 500 feet from the road.
Officers told WRAL News they are waiting on the state medical examiner to determine the cause of death. The investigation is still ongoing.
