Linda Hardy was last seen getting into a cab leaving the Kensington Healthcare Facility on March 6, according to a family member.

KENSINGTON, Md. — Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police are asking for the public‘s help locating a missing 75-year-old woman from Kensington.

Linda Arnelle Hardy was last seen on Wednesday, March 6 leaving the Kensington Healthcare Center located on McComas Avenue. Police say she is legally blind.

Hardy’s daughter, Charnissa Monroe told WUSA9 that she had spoken to her mother the day before she went missing, but after that was unable to get in touch with her.

“I couldn’t get any information from the facility. I was calling for a week and finally, I got the police to do a welfare check and we found out that she had left the facility and got into a cab,” Monroe said.

Monroe says her mother has been living at the facility for at least four years.

Due to Hardy’s visual impairment, her daughter says she heavily relies on people guiding her to help her get to places.

“She’s very friendly, very talkative. She is a very devout Seventh Day Adventist so she goes to church on Saturdays but as of late she has only been going to church online,” Monroe added.

Monroe says her mother’s phone is no longer ringing and that she would never go this long without communicating with her family.

“I understand she told people that she didn’t have any family.”

Monroe says that those comments have her believing her mom was not in the right state of mind when she allegedly got in the cab.

“That is very concerning. I don’t know why she would have said that. That leads me to believe that there is something going on with her mindset, and it may not be the way that it ought to be. So that’s another concerning factor,” Monroe said.

Hardy is described as a 5-foot-5 woman who weighs 180 pounds and has brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call police at 240-773-5545.

“We are just concerned. We are just worried. We don’t know what happened. With all the things happening in the surrounding area it’s just very concerning that she hasn’t reached out to anyone,” Monroe said.

We have reached out to Kensington Health Care Center for comment, but we have yet to hear back.
