Harvey Weinstein received a 16-year prison sentence Thursday in Los Angeles after being convicted in December on rape and sexual assault charges.

The former movie producer was previously sentenced in 2020 to 23 years following a rape and sexual assault trial in New York.

“Before that night I was a very happy and confident woman. I valued myself and the relationship I had with God,” Weinstein’s accuser, identified only as Jane Doe 1, said Thursday.

“I was excited about my future. Everything changed after the defendant brutally assaulted me. There is no prison sentence long enough to undo the damage.”

Weinstein maintained his innocence Thursday, saying, “I never raped or sexually assaulted Jane Doe 1.”
