Harnett County suspect shot in leg during fight with police officer

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) — A fight between a police officer and a suspect lead to an officer’s gun being fired in Harnett County.

This happened around 9 p.m. in the Town of Coats.

Mayor Chris Coats told Eyewitness News that a suspect was shot in the leg, but they’re okay.

It’s not known at this time what started the confrontation.
