Queen Margrethe II joined King Frederik X and Queen Mary as they hosted their first Hæderstegnsmiddag at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg on the evening of March 11th, which was first established by King Frederik IX of Denmark on his birthday in 1953.
King Frederik X and Queen Mary hosted the Gala Dinner for the Armed Forces, the Air Force and the National Emergency Management Agency at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg, where the King and Queen, along with Queen Margrethe, received the attendees in the Audience Hall.
King Frederik X wore his Air Force Uniform while Queen Mary wore her Diamond Earrings, the Armed Forces’ company uniform for women and the Order of the Elephant.
King Frederik X was proclaimed the King of Denmark on the Balcony of Christiansborg Palace on January 14th, following the Abdication of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark after a 52-year Reign. The proclamation was followed by a Carriage Procession back to Amalienborg Palace.
