GRiZ is taking a break from touring, he announced on social media today.

The electronic music superstar shared a statement citing a desire to spend more time with friends and family as the impetus behind his impending hiatus, which he said does not have a “hard time limit length.”

“In October of this year I’m going to play my last show for the foreseeable future and will be taking a good amount of time off from touring and the GRiZ project,” he writes. “Life is really good, and often I make myself too busy to see just where I am and how far the project has come. I’m following my gut instincts so for now, I’m not going to put a hard time limit length on the break.”

GRiZ will continue writing new music during his time away, he added.

In August 2021, GRiZ launched his own premium cannabis line. That year, he was named one of EDM.com‘s best music producers after releasing Rainbow Brain, his scintillating seventh album.
