Firefighters advised for a full evacuation of Solano Community College due to a gas leak.
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A gas leak led firefighters to advise for a full evacuation of the Solano Community College campus in Fairfield Tuesday evening.
The college called on people to leave the campus immediately and to stay off campus until an all-clear is given.
A college spokesperson said students left the campus safely and calmly after the notice went out.
While a spokesperson for Fairfield Police Department said their agency wasn’t the lead for the incident, they did say there was a possible underground gas leak between two buildings and the tennis courts at the campus.
Police added that it appears to be an isolated leak with the campus being evacuated as a precaution.
An update will be provided by the college by 6 a.m. Wednesday for any extension of a campus closure.
