King George VI and Queen Elizabeth were joined by Queen Mary, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire for a Gala Performance of ‘Pygmalion’ at the Theatre Royal in Windsor on this day in 1939, 85 years ago, just weeks after the French State Visit and shortly before the Royal Tour of Canada.
