The Federal Trade Commission is proposing a new rule that could make it easier for consumers to cancel recurring charges like clothing subscriptions and gym memberships. The agency says it receives thousands of complaints each year from consumers affected by pesky charges they didn’t know they were signing up for, or that are difficult to cancel.
