38-year-old woman was nabbed by Customs Officers in Suriname as she attempted to import hashish into the country.

Police said the woman, who is a French national, was arrested after she disembarked a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Paramaribo at the Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport on Thursday.

The drugs weighed more than 25kg.

Police have handed over the woman to the Public Prosecution Service where she will be charged.
