The Francis Scott Key Bridge in DC is closed as rescue teams search the waters for a person. Authorities have yet to reveal how the person got there.

WASHINGTON — The Francis Scott Key Bridge in DC is shut down in both directions as rescue crews look for a person in the water Friday night.

DC Fire and EMS crews have deployed rescue boats, as well as divers in the water under the bridge.

Officials have not indicated how the person ended up in the water, nor have they said when the bridge might open back up.
