THURSDAY NIGHT: Becoming clear, seasonably cool. Winds: North 5-10 mph. Low: 55.
A fantastic Friday is on tap as the center of high pressure in Wisconsin is firm control of Midwest weather conditions bringing mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures.

Friday morning temperatures
Drier air cools more efficiently. Expect a cooler start to the day with some inland locations close to 50-degrees while the urban heat of the city and residual warmth of Lake Michigan keep temperatures closer to 60-degrees early Friday morning.

Friday high temperatures
Dry air also heats up quickly! Mostly sunny skies will help boost afternoon highs into the 80s for much of the metro area. The one exception may be north lakeshore where a slight easterly component to the wind may keep readings a few degrees cooler.

Updated 80 degree tally
We have passed the annual normal officially at O’Hare and this number will grow in the days ahead with several 80s on tap.

Friday sunburn forecast
Days are noticeably shorter, and the sun is weaker than it was two months ago, but you can still get a sunburn around peak time, 1pm, in about 30 minutes without proper protection. The UV index is still hovering between 5 and 6 right now.
