One person was taken to the hospital after a fire Sunday at a Fort Worth senior living center , officials said.

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded about 11:30 a.m. to Linwood Square Apartments, 3201 Sondra Drive, after fire broke out in a single unit on the fourth floor and the sprinkler activated, a spokesperson said.

The residents were initially evacuated but were allowed to shelter in the apartment’s lounge area and residents who are disabled received assistance from the firefighters, officials said.

The fire was quickly under control, officials said.

A 65-year-old man was taken to the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, officials said.

Arson investigators were on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire, a spokesperson said.
