Finnair has purchased 750 metric tons of sustainable aviation fuel from SAF producer Neste for use on flights from Helsinki, the carrier announced Monday.

The carrier expects the fuel to be delivered to Helsinki Airport in early 2023. Finnair said this is the carrier’s largest purchase of SAF to date. Last year, Finnair agreed to purchase 7 million gallons of SAF per year for five years from SAF producer Gevo.
