(FOX40.COM) — A man passed from a solo motorcycle collision on Friday, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Officers said they received a call reporting a collision around 6:45 p.m. in the area of Noonan and Cement Hill Road. When officers and fire personnel arrived, the 53-year-old rider sustained major injuries.
After being transported to a local hospital, FPD reported that the man passed away. His identity is not being released, pending notification of next of kin.
The road was closed until around 11 p.m. that same night, FPD said.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation by FPD. Officials request that anyone with information and/or who witnessed the incident contact the Traffic Division at (707) 428-7300.
