THE family of a teen girl who went missing after meeting her ex frantically called police, only to be told her body had been dumped in a bush.

The young woman, who has not been named, went to visit her ex, 19, at a carpark in Brisbane, Australia, at 4.30pm on Saturday.

When the 18-year-old failed to return home by 7pm, her distressed family alerted Queensland Police.

Cops arrested the girl’s ex in a neighbouring suburb an hour-and-a-half later.

The suspect was found at a service station in Nambour, some 50 miles from where he reportedly met with the young woman.

Her body was discovered at 3am on Sunday under a mile away from the service station.

Police charged the man with murder and misconduct with a corpse and said he would front a local Magistrates Court this week.

Detective Inspector Ben Fadian said the young woman’s “loving parents” were devastated by the news.

“It’s a tragic event, the young lady is 18 years of age, she had her whole life ahead of her,” he said.

“This is a good young lady … and this has happened to her. It’s a tragedy.

“The family of the young lady have been advised and as you would appreciate, they are devastated.”

The woman’s body was dump in bushland nearby the station, which has now been cordoned off by police.

Her car was found in the Strathpine carpark where she initially met her ex-partner.

Detective Fadian said the couple did not have a reported history of violent abuse.

He said: “I can say that there was no domestic violence orders in place and there was no history of either party being in contact with police about anything of that nature.

“At this stage we have no evidence that there are any other parties involved in this.”

Cops are interviewing family and friends to understand if there was any prior violence in the relationship.
