FairFly has developed a tool to automate miscellaneous change order processing for travel management companies, the travel technology provider announced.

MCOs are issued when a flight ticket is exchanged for a lower fare, with travelers being credited for the residual amount. With FairFly’s AutoMCO tool, TMCs can queue passenger name records into the tool when they are exchanged, which then will validate data, issue an MCO and direct residuals via the preferred process.

The tool is aimed at helping TMCs as they “are struggling with a severe labor shortage”, according to FairFly founder and CEO Aviel Siman Tov. The company noted that issuing MCOs can be a time-consuming process for agents and can also be costly on a financial level, with improper issuance resulting in agency debit memos.
