It’s Wednesday afternoon in New York City, where the Department of Sanitation’s mini sweepers did a pretty good job clearing snow from bike lanes.

Here’s what else is happening:

  • NY1’s Pat Kiernan and Roger Clark raced each other to see whether it’s faster to get to Washington Square Park from the Upper West Side (Kiernan) or the Upper East Side (Clark) via the subway.
  • There’s a good chance your Valentine’s Day chocolate this year will cost more than an entire Valentine’s Day wedding (at City Hall).
  • “Annoying? Yes. Criminal? No.”: Atlantic Terminal Mall is banning teens from entering on weekdays without adult chaperones — it even has bouncers checking IDs — even though the teens aren’t doing anything besides hanging out and not buying much.
  • Even though it’s been 13 years since the federal EPA pledged to clean up Newtown Creek, the water is still dirty and there’s no remediation plan in place.
  • While you still shouldn’t snort asbestos, you could definitely survive if you did.
  • Scientists have developed a pinkish lab-grown “beef rice” that they claim has a “pleasant and novel flavour experience.”
  • Jacob Elordi: Too tall?
  • And finally, ouchie:
