DANBURY, N.C. (WGHP) — A now former captain with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is being charged with assault and sexual battery, according to the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office.

Stokes County deputies said they served warrants charging Marcus Shane Bullins with four counts of assault on a female and two counts of sexual battery. He was given a $12,000 bond and has since bonded out.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said that Bullins’ employment ended on Thursday and that he was a captain at the time.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office website previously listed Bullins as “Field Operations Commander.” The position is now listed as vacant.

There is no further information available at this time.
