Eric Prydz is paving the way for the return of Pryda in celebratory fashion.

It’s been five years since we last heard from the Swedish dance music icon’s Pryda alias, but plans for its future have been bumping around in his head for some time.

Prydz has been firing on all cylinders and currently boasts one of the hottest shows on the road, his visual-forward HOLO series. The show has been touring at major electronic music festivals including Ultra, Coachella and Tomorrowland, and additionally exists as its own residency in Ibiza.

HOLO’s lifelike 3D visuals haven’t been the only buzz surrounding Prydz, however. Demand has been persistent for new music and Pryda’s new release marks one of the most highly requested instrumentals in recent times. With “The Return,” Pryda weaves a progressive house saga with epic ebbs and flows.

The producer builds up with the embrace of warm analog synths before letting marching percussion hits and stentorian bass rush into the fold. The tension and release that defines a great house track is found in spades from one of the best to ever do it, and “The Return” all but likely ensures this is only the first of more great things ahead for Pryda.
