The no-pants trend continues its reign at Paris Haute Couture Week. At the Valentino Haute Couture show on July 5, Emma Chamberlain stepped out sans pants in a sheer blouse with floral embroidery and gauzy oversize sleeves. Instead of a regular pair of bottoms, however, the 22-year-old influencer and content creator attended the show in tiny briefs completely covered in pink ostrich feathers. She left the rest of her legs bare, accessorizing with black heels, a matching neck tie, and a pink Valentino micro purse with glittery silver hardware.
At first glance, the fringe created by the wispy pastel feathers made it so that Chamberlain’s briefs could almost pass as a miniskirt. But when she stood upright with her arms down, the illusion appeared much more deliberate, following in the footsteps of other celebrities who also ditched their pants for a leggier look. Other verified fans of the no-pants trend include Kylie Jenner, Sydney Sweeney, and Florence Pugh, all of whom have gone pants-less in their own ways, whether it’s styling underwear as pants, opting for a pair of tights instead, or nixing bottoms altogether.
Given Chamberlain’s cool-girl style, it’s not surprising that she would gravitate towards a riskier trend like this. Previously, she wore an asymmetrical studded gown to her very first Met Gala in 2021, working with Louis Vuitton on the final design. An avid thrifter and big proponent of mindful consumption, she’s also shown love to eclectic accessories and bold fashion risks, and the pants-less trend is no exception.
