A young boy who was a very, very weird child had a surgery that went wrong leaving him with a lazy eye and speech problem.

He started wearing big blue NHS glasses. Each time he tried speaking up in class his lips froze, he couldn’t speak.

He was bullied, laughed at and made fun of by other kids in class because he stuttered and wore oversized glasses.

He felt like the odd one out, who couldn’t fit in and stopped talking in class since he was unable to express himself how he wanted.

One day his dad bought him Eminem’s record, The Marshall album, when he was nine years old. He eventually learned every word of it, back to front, by the time he was ten.

The rap style helped him get rid of his stuttering. The young boy grew to be a major record artist and songwriter with songs and videos streamed billions times worldwide – That young boy is Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran learned that being weird is actually a wonderful thing. and he embraced it.

Angelina Jolie also knew this when she said: One day I realized something — something I hope you all realize. Different is good. … Don’t ever try to be less than what you are — and when someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud.”

You are wonderful in ways you could never have imagined, weird, unique, different, special and that makes you beautiful.

Take a look at your fingers, do you see how different they are from each other.

Each one though a part of the hand, stands uniquely from the other coexisting in harmony.

So are we all connected as humans yet our differences are seen a s odd.

No matter who you are, white or black, young or old, short or tall, you are beautiful. Do not be afraid to be yourself, and to express yourself.

More importantly, Never base your decisions or define yourself based on someone else’s opinions about you. Someone else’s opinion of you should never become your reality.

They say you don’t fit in, you don’t belong. Why should you?  Why should you fit in when you were born to stand out.

“You were born to be YOU and no one in the world can be a better you than you.”

Don’t be afraid to be seen as odd, weird or different because you are being yourself rather be afraid of being the same like everyone else.

A wise poet Oscar Wilde once said; “Be yourself everyone else is taken.”

“Embrace who you are. Embrace your uniqueness.”
