American Express Global Business Travel has added ground transportation options via GroundSpan to the Egencia platform, the company announced.

The integration gives Egencia customers in the U.S. and Canada access to GroundSpan’s network of vehicles, including chauffeured sedans, SUVs and multi-passenger vans. Companies also can access negotiated rates with preferred suppliers through the platform.

The addition is part of “a complete redesign” of Egencia’s ground transportation booking in North America, according to Egencia VP of product management Heather Lisagor. New ground transportation booking features include prepopulating data fields to speed up booking in frequently used locations, and the platform passes on flight details automatically to vehicle suppliers so they can monitor delays and schedule changes.

Amex GBT already uses GroundSpan for booking with Ovation Travel Group, and the travel management company expects it will be available in its Neo tool later this year.
