Earn 70,000 Miles with the Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business Card

Update: This Barclays Aviator Business card offer is available once again. The spending requirement is now $2,000 instead of $1,000 which we saw earlier this year. There’s also a 75K offer available but it requires $10K in spending.

Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard is available again for application after disappearing for a few weeks. The card now has a signup bonus of 70,000 miles as well This is not the highest bonus we have seen, but it is still a good one considering the low spending requirement. Let’s check out the details of this Barclays Aviator Business card offer.

Card Benefits

While this Barclays Aviator Business card offer is great, the card itself doesn’t have a lot to offer. The only bonus categories where you earn 2x are American Airlines purchases and select telecom, office supply purchases and car rentals.

You earn $3,000 Elite Qualifying Dollars when you spend $25,000 on purchases each calendar year, and an annual companion certificate after you spend $30,000 or more, good for one guest to travel with you for $99.

If you keep the card past the first year, there’s a 5% annual mileage bonus every year (after you pay your annual fee).

  • Earn
    • 2 miles for every $1 you spend when you use your card on eligible American Airlines purchases
    • 2 miles for every $1 you spend on select telecom, office supply purchases and car rentals

Application Rules

Barclays will usually only approve you for a card every 6 months. If you have a Barclays card, is better to put some spend on it before applying for another card. They don’t like dormant cardholders. There’s no real limit on the number of cards you can have with Barclays.

They also have a 6/24 rule. That means that they might not approve you if you’ve had more than 6 new cards in the last 24 months. I say might because we’re not sure if it still applies, and even before it was never really a hard rule.

Barclays business cards don’t report to personal credit reports.

Now they also added the following language:

In addition, you may not be eligible for this offer if, at any time during our relationship with you, we have cause, as determined by us in our sole discretion, to suspect that the account is being obtained or will be used for abusive or gaming activity (such as, but not limited to, obtaining or using the account to maximize rewards earned in a manner that is not consistent with typical consumer activity and/or multiple credit card account applications/openings).

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This Barclays Aviator Business card offer is not the best we have ever seen, but it’s an easy 70,000 miles for spending just $2,000 in 90 days. You earn 60,000 miles after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 90 days, and then another 10,000 miles after a purchase on an employee card.

This is a business card, so there’s a good chance that it won’t report to your personal credit report, and won’t affect your Chase 5/24 status. We have seen some data points to the contrary in recent weeks, but it’s still not clear whether it will report or not.
