Korean-Australian artist DPR IAN is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of his upcoming EP, ‘Dear Insanity…,’ scheduled for next month. Today, he delights fans with his latest single and accompanying video, “So I Danced,” now available for streaming on all digital platforms via The Orchard. This captivating song, written and produced by IAN himself, marks the newest addition to his forthcoming project set to drop on October 6th. Just last month, IAN returned triumphantly by releasing his indie-pop single, “Peanut Butter & Tears.” Accompanying this single was a visually striking music video that gave viewers a mesmerizing glimpse into “The Other Side.” In just one month, the video has already amassed an impressive 3.5 million views on YouTube.

Before his recent work on MITO, IAN introduced “Insanity” as a character. He explained, “‘Dear Insanity…’ EP serves as a prequel to the expansive MITO universe. It spotlights Mr. Insanity, who first appeared in the MIITO short film. ‘Dear Insanity…’ takes us on IAN’s journey to and through ‘The Other Side,’ a dreamlike realm. As he traverses this mysterious world, IAN gradually loses his sanity, culminating in his transformation into ‘Mr. Insanity.’”

Diving deeper into his latest single, “So I Danced,” IAN elaborates, “Amid a series of bewildering and perilous events, Insanity is faced with a question about his emotions. In response, he begins to dance, signifying that his state of mind is far from stable. It’s also during this moment that Insanity has a surprising encounter with MITO, which adds a twist to the narrative on The Other Side.”

DPR IAN’s previous studio album, ‘Moodswings In To Order,’ achieved remarkable global success, debuting at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, #6 on the World’s Albums chart, and #7 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global and US charts. The project has now garnered over 50 million streams in the US alone, firmly establishing IAN as a rising star in the music scene. His talent has earned him coveted spots on esteemed festival lineups, including Coachella, Head in the Clouds NY and LA, Lollapalooza, and many more.

The accompanying MIITO short film, a testament to IAN’s artistic brilliance, was directed and edited by the multi-talented artist himself. This captivating film came to life during a sold-out, whirlwind 4-month world tour spanned North America, Latin America, the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The tour was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from fans worldwide, solidifying DPR IAN’s status as an international sensation. IAN’s Top 10 streaming markets in Southeast Asia include the Philippines 🇵🇭, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Malaysia 🇲🇾, and Thailand 🇹🇭.
