Doughnut lovers, rejoice. Your Mom’s Donuts is bringing its famous square pastries to Cornelius.
The beloved doughnut and coffee shop will debut in the Shops at the Fresh Market shopping center on Torrence Chapel Road. Owners haven’t confirmed an opening date. However, a Google listing says the new storefront will begin welcoming guests on Wednesday, July 15.
It will join Your Mom’s Donuts’ other locations in Matthews and Charlotte, in the Park Road area. You can also snag a doughnut (or two) every Saturday at the Davidson Farmer’s Market.
The menu includes classic flavors like plain glazed, milk chocolate and vanilla with sprinkles. The cinnamon sugar and lemon honey donuts are also popular picks, along with rotating specialty flavors like guava and cream cheese (filled).
Your Mom’s Donuts previously closed both of its Charlotte-area locations in 2023, CharlotteFive reported, citing then-owner Courtney Ahern. Longtime customers Dustin and Colleen Wanemacher would take over the beloved doughnut shop months later, giving it a second life.
“Our YMD experience began at the Davidson Farmers Market where we’d see Courtney and her crew on Saturday mornings after our daughter’s ballet class,” the couple wrote on Instagram at the time. “We couldn’t get enough of these big square donuts, along with the rest of the market.”
CharlotteFive reached out to the Wanemachers for more information July 6 and were awaiting a response.
