Dodgers return to World Series after Shohei Ohtani hits 3 home runs, pitches six scoreless

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — It was the Shohei Ohtani show at Dodger Stadium Friday as the two-way superstar pitched six scoreless innings and hit three home runs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers secured their spot in the World Series with a win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Dodgers beat the Brewers 5-1, completing a NLCS sweep of the team with the best record in baseball this season.

Shohei Ohtani, who has struggled offensively in the series, had his moment on the mound and in the batter’s box in Game 4.

The two-way superstar pitched six scoreless innings and struck out 10. He was pulled in the seventh inning after the first two batters reached base.

At the plate, Ohtani hit two majestic home runs – a first-inning blast that went 446 feet and another shot in the fourth that traveled 469 feet. His second homer appeared to go over the roof of the Right Field Pavilion at Dodger Stadium.

Los Angeles seeks to become the first team to win back-to-back championships since the New York Yankees accomplished the feat in 2000.

The Dodgers will play either the Seattle Mariners or the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series. Seattle leads the ALCS 3-2.

This is a developing story. This article will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
