Ahead of a hotly anticipated album on the horizon, DJ Snake is slithering into summer with a new single, “Westside Story.”
Devoid of the unrelenting bass of a classic Snake banger, “Westside Story” is satin sheets and chocolate-covered strawberries. Its seductive, slow-burning beat sizzles underneath a smooth vocoder, eventually evaporating into a breezy disco anthem.
Snake manages to weave a sun-soaked latticework of glossy nu-disco and effervescent electro-funk, producing a come-hither jam to usher in the summer solstice. Take a listen to “Westside Story” below.
The prolific French DJ and producer recently revealed a brand new album in the works, but he’s remained tight-lipped ever since. Mum’s the word on a title or release date at this time, but fans attending his summer 2023 tour will likely hear new music.
