Digitain has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Dario Jurčić as chief commercial officer for Europe and Africa, in a bid to increase its footprint in regulated markets and accelerate its expansion in emerging regions.
New Leadership Set to Drive Digitain’s International Expansion Push
The company, which provides sportsbook and iGaming technology solutions, is embarking on a new growth phase with an emphasis on extending its commercial footprint in Europe and scaling its operations across a number of African markets. This strategy will be developed and implemented with the direct involvement of Jurčić.
Jurčić has more than 10 years of executive experience and a strong background in business development, platform growth, and market expansion. For many years, he has been at the helm of fast-growing organizations and has received international acclaim for his leadership. He was also named among the top CEOs in Central and Eastern Europe in 2025 by industry peers.
In his new position, he will take the lead of Digitain’s commercial direction across both continents. His responsibilities include raising the profile of the company in highly regulated European jurisdictions, and assisting its ongoing push into Africa, where it is already ramping up activity in countries such as Kenya, Zambia and South Africa.
Jurčić will also be responsible for operations across Digitain’s existing European hubs in Malta, Romania and the UK. This will be supported by a planned office in Central Europe to further support growth in the region and enhance service capabilities for partners.
Company Strengthens UK and European Position After New Licensing Milestones
Recently, the firm has made progress in a number of regulated markets, such as securing approval and licenses in a number of European countries. Earlier in 2026, Digitain increased its UK footprint after its sportsbook platform received certification and it acquired a betting license, enabling the company to better compete in one of the toughest markets in the industry.
Commenting on his appointment, Jurčić said that the ambition and technology of Digitain were the main reasons why he decided to join. He said the business had already developed a solid foundation with a lot of potential for extending its reach, especially through scalable solutions suitable for competitive markets.
Ani Mkrtchyan, chief sales officer at Digitain, said he was confident in the new hire, who will help the company strengthen partnerships and add more value to clients thanks to his experience and strategic mindset. She pointed to his strong knowledge of the global iGaming scene as a valuable asset to the company.
Prior to Digitain, Jurčić spent several years at Sportradar, holding several leadership roles, including senior vice president positions in iGaming and platform development.
