There hasn’t been a Mega Millions jackpot winner since December.
WASHINGTON — The winning numbers were drawn Tuesday night for the $650 million Mega Millions jackpot.
The numbers were 2-49-50-61-70, Mega Ball: 14 and Megaplier 2.
Nobody correctly matched all six numbers, which means the jackpot will rise to $687 million for Friday’s drawing.
Two tickets in California and Michigan matched the first five numbers to win $1 million.
Mega Millions hasn’t seen a grand prize winner since December 8, 2023, when two tickets shared a $394 million jackpot.
Last year was a big year for massive lottery jackpots, with two Mega Millions jackpots and one Powerball jackpot worth over $1 billion. While Tuesday’s $650 million jackpot doesn’t even crack the top ten largest U.S. lottery jackpots, it was the seventh-largest prize in Mega Millions history.
Winners almost always take the cash option, but they do have a choice to instead get the full amount in regular payments over 29 years. The cash value of Tuesday’s jackpot was $308.6 million.
The odds of winning the jackpot are one in 302,575,350.
