The death of a 40-year-old woman in a burning Brooklyn apartment has been ruled a homicide, police said Wednesday.

Sugerys Ramirez was found dead early Nov. 11 when firefighters responded to a blaze inside a vacant apartment on Van Siclen Ave. near Fulton St. in East New York.

One other person suffered a minor injury but did not need medical attention

Ramirez was a squatter at the apartment, police said, and fire marshals found evidence an accelerant was used to start the fire.

An autopsy determined Ramirez died of severe burns.

No arrests have been made and police have not identified a suspect. It was unclear if Ramirez was intentionally targeted by the arsonist.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to bring the 3:55 a.m. blaze under control.
