All lanes of I-85 South were closed near Kings Mountain after the crash.
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A multi-car crash on I-85 near Kings Mountain caused a massive fire and left at least one person dead on Sunday.
Gaston County officials say multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on I-85 South near mile marker 10. The crash involved multiple tractor-trailers, at least one of which was engulfed in flames after the crash.
Fire crews at the scene of the crash told WCNC Charlotte that a body was recovered. No further confirmation has been made of any injuries from the crash.

All lanes of I-85 S are closed in the area. Motorists are being asked to use exit 13 at Edgewood Road.
