King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark hosted a New Year’s Levée at Christian VII’s Palace in Amalienborg, ahead of a Levée for the Diplomatic Corps at Christiansborg Palace on January 5th, after the New Year’s Court (Nytårskur) and Banquet on the 1st.
King Frederik X and Queen Mary hosted a New Year’s Levée for Mayors and Regional Council Chairmen, the Supreme Court and the Officer Corps of the Royal Life Guard and Royal Hussar Guard Regiments at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg.
It is a historic picture, as it is the first time that the country’s mayors and regional council chairmen have been invited to the court.
Queen Mary wore the Earrings of the Khedive of Egypt Parure, the Sash and Star of the Order of the Elephant, King Frederik X’s Portrait Order, and the Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog. King Frederik wore Uniform with his medals, the Sash and Star of the Order of the Elephant, and the insignia of his other Orders.
The Danish Royal Family joined King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark as they held the annual New Year’s Court (Nytårskur) and Banquet at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg in Copenhagen on the evening of January 1st. 




Queen Margrethe II, Crown Prince Christian, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte joined King Frederik X and Queen Mary as they hosted the New Year’s Reception and Banquet for the Government, top Civil Servants and the Royal Court at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg.
The Royal Family were pictured arriving at the Palace and reviewing the Guard but the Banquet remained a private event with no photographs released except of the decorations.
The New Year’s Eve Reception and Dinner was held for the government, the Speaker of the Folketing, representatives of official Denmark and the Court in Christian VII’s Palace at Amalienborg.
King Frederik of Denmark wore Uniform with his medals, the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and Neck Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog.
Queen Mary wore the Diamond Bandeau Tiara and Diamond Earrings from the Danish Crown Jewels, the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant, King Frederik X’s Portrait Order, and the Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog.
Prince Christian wore White Tie with the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant.
Queen Margrethe II wore the Nassut Tiara with the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and the Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog.
Prince Joachim wore Uniform with his medals, the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and Neck Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog. Princess Marie wore the Mauboussin Nuit Claire Tiara and her Sapphire Earrings, the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and Queen Margrethe II’s Royal Family Order.
Princess Benedikte wore the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Fringe Tiara, her Amethyst Suite and Bracelets created from her Diamond Sautoir with the Collar and Star of the Order of the Elephant and the Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog.
