Crews fight house fire in South Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — A child was taken to the hospital as crews knocked down a house fire in South Sacramento on Tuesday, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Metro Fire received reports of a fire around 5:05 a.m. on Fairlawn Court.

Crews confirm that the fire began in the garage and extended into the home and the attic.

Two adults and three children were able to make it out of the home, and one of the children was taken to the hospital for unknown circumstances.

The structure was left severely damaged, along with a few vehicles, and the family was displaced.

The fire is being investigated, and crews will remain on scene to clean up.
