Hauppauge-based Teachers Federal Credit Union is pledging to distribute $50,000 among three local nonprofits.

The charities include Memorial Sloan Kettering, Ronald McDonald House and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Now, the credit union is asking the community to help determine how to distribute the funds to the three charities. Members of the credit union and the broader community can cast their vote through Dec. 4 here.

Results will be announced on Dec. 18. The first place recipient will be awarded $25,000, second-place $15,000 and third-place $10,000.

“Embracing the strength of our community, we extend an invitation to our members and the public to vote on how these funds will be distributed among the three charities,” Brad Calhoun, president and CEO of Teachers Federal Credit Union, said in a statement. “The collective voice of the community carries great significance, and your participation can help make this holiday season extra special for those in need.”

Teachers said it supports nonprofits that promote education, health and human services, research and economic development. Throughout 2023, Teachers has donated over $800,000 to more than 60 charitable organizations across the country.
