Police on Saturday were investigating the mysterious death of a 43-year-old Brooklyn woman.

The victim had a broken bone in her neck as if she had been strangled, a police source with knowledge of the case said.

Cops were called to the Albany Houses on Troy Ave. about 11:15 a.m. Thursday on a report of a foul odor coming from an eighth-floor apartment.

Forcing open the door, cops found the victim sprawled out on the living room floor, police said.

The woman had been dead for several hours, cops said. Her name was not immediately released.

Cops couldn’t find any visible injuries, but the coroner discovered that at least one bone was broken in her neck.

The city Medical Examiner’s office determined the death to be suspicious and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine how she died.

No arrests have been made as cops continue to investigate.
