Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans loses relection bid

CHICAGO (WLS) — There will be a new Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Charles Beach defeated Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans in an election vote on Wednesday.

Evans was seeking his ninth term.

Beach’s three-year term will begin on December 1.

Earlier this year, Evans was moved off domestic violence cases after two suspects allegedly killed a woman and a child.
