Chase Pulling D&B Reports for Business Cards Applications

When you apply for a Chase credit card, Chase normally uses credit data from Experian. However, Chase may opt to review your Equifax or TransUnion credit reports instead depending on you state of residence.

But now there’s a report that when applying for a Chase Business credit card, they will also pull your D&B report. Chase business cards already report account activity to D&B and other major business credit bureaus, but using them for credit card approvals is new. Apparently this is now done for all business credit card applications.

A Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) report, also known as a Dun & Bradstreet Business Credit Report, is a report that measures a company’s creditworthiness. It’s one of the most popular credit reports when it comes to businesses.

A D&B report includes information about a company’s payment history, trade references, credit scores, and ratings. It also provides information about a company’s operational data and public filings, and will list things such as liens and bankruptcies. But the content of you report may vary widely, and especially for newer businesses, or businesses with limited activity, it probably contains little to no information.

So how does this news affect you chances of getting approved for a Chase business credit card? I can’t say for sure, but I would guess that it’s probably not a positive change if you are chasing big offers and frequent welcome bonuses.

You can read more about D&B and check your report here.
