Investigators say a suspect and their car was captured by nearby surveillance cameras.
WASHINGTON — Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who shot a 10-year-old boy on Saturday in Southeast, D.C. The boy is expected to survive.
At 8:22 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3400 block of 13th Place, Southeast for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers found a 10-year-old boy who had been shot. He was rushed to an area hospital for help with non-life-threatening injuries. He is expected to survive.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or car, or who has knowledge of this shooting should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s text tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia
