The Chumash tribe have been fighting industrialization along the California coast, working to conserve the marine ecosystem that has been cared for for generations. In partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Chumash tribe is now months away from potentially being the first Indigenous group have its own marine sanctuary.
