Burlington police looking for person who robbed a cleaners and stole a car

Burlington police are looking for a man who robbed a dry cleaner on Monday.

Officers were called just after 3 p.m. to Boston Cleaners on North Church Street for reports of a robbery.

When they arrived, officers said they found a person who was injured after being assaulted by the alleged robber. They were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to be OK.

Officers said the suspect is described as a 5’10″ man who weighs about 250 pounds. Police also said the man is believed to have a goatee secured by a rubber band.

Police said the man physically assaulted the victim before leaving with an unknown amount of money and stealing the victim’s burgundy 2002 Nissan Xterra. The car has an NC license plate PLH-7115.

The investigation is still ongoing. Burlington police ask anyone with information to call the police department at (336) 229-3500.
