Burglars shattered a rear glass door in a break-in early Sunday morning at the Los Angeles home of actor-producer Tracee Ellis Ross, the LAPD told NBC4 Investigates.
Ross, known for roles on “Black-ish” and “Girlfriends,” was out of town at the time, the department said. The break-in was reported at about 12:30 a.m. after staff members arrived at the residence.
Three intruders broke in through the glass door, police said. They left with more than $100,000 worth of jewelry and handbags, police told NBC4 Investigates.
Police recovered security camera video.
No arrests were reported.
NBCLA reached out to a representative for Ross, but did not hear back early Tuesday afternoon.
Ross, 52, the daughter of Motown legend Diana Ross and Robert Ellis Silberstein, has won three NAACP Image Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress: Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role on “Black-ish.”
The burglary was among several recent break-ins and other crimes at homes owned by celebrities in Los Angeles.
In August, one person was arrested after police responded to an early morning burglary at the Beverly Hills house of singer-songwriter and producer Lionel Richie.
In June, burglars broke into the Los Feliz home of actor Brad Pitt, who was on a promotional tour for the film “F1.” The burglars are believed to have climbed over the front fence before breaking a window and ransacking the residence.
The home of actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban was burglarized on Valentines Day after the residence of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson in the Pacific Palisades was broken into last August.
Jennifer Aniston, the former wife of Pitt, was targeted in a crime in May when a man allegedly rammed his car through the front gates of the actress’s Bel Air home.
In July, an attempted burglary was reported at the Hollywood Hills home of Dodgers pitching phenom Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Break-ins were reported at the homes of Dodgers infielders Max Muncy and Freddie Freeman in 2023. A burglary was reported at the Los Angeles home of LAFC striker Olivier Giroud in February.
