Authorities recovered the body of a missing 15-year-old boy late Saturday on Coney Island beach in Brooklyn, not far from the spot where he was reported missing, police sources said.

The body of the missing teen, swept away by the Coney Island surf on Thursday, was found about 9:19 p.m. Saturday floating near W. 22nd St., not far from where he vanished, said the sources.

Medics pronounced the teen dead at the scene, said sources.

City Councilman Justin Brannan reported that the teen was found on Twitter late Saturday.

“While their grief won’t end, I hope this will bring the family a modicum of closure. Please keep your prayers with them tonight,” Brannan wrote.

The 15-year-old was swimming with his brother near W. 22nd St. and Surf Ave. at about 12:38 p.m. Thursday when they were both pulled under, authorities said.

Bystanders soon pulled one of the brothers from the water. But after roughly three hours of searching, police and firefighters called off their search for the 15-year-old.

The brothers, who lived in a Bronx shelter, went to Coney Island to visit friends and swim, said City Councilman Ari Kagan.

Kagan said the boy’s death could have been avoided if there were more lifeguards on duty.

On Friday evening, a 19-year-old man drowned at Jacob Riis Park in the Rockaways when waves pulled him under at about 7:40 p.m..

As members of the NYPD Harbor Unit searched for the man, he washed up on shore.

EMS rushed the Brooklyn resident to Coney Island Hospital, where he was declared dead late Friday, police said.
